In The Mood: Party Planning! (Part II)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DEAREST BRO, AYIE@AZRI.

"HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
MAY YOUR WISHES ALL COME TRUE & ALL THE BEST...

xoxo

Nothing much is being done today for this Saturday party. I guess Monday is always been a busy day for all... just another manic day. Or perhaps, we are still in our weekend mood where snoozing the alarm clock can be something that is difficult to preclude... something delicious and counting the hair in front of the TV is beyond amazing.

But regardless we just can't put the rhythm going down... even with just a little add-ons. So to keep it moving, let's plan for the games!

I realized the only way to add some flavor and spice to the birthday party that we will be hosting, is to have a great party games. Well wow, there are way too many sites that can help us with the game search, and guide us to the best games available that will blend well with the theme.

Ok, I'm spoiled by choice. All i need is just something fun (but clean! - 'P.A.W') games that will liven up the party. Sounds so 'kacang'? Seriously, it ain't easy!

Well, even though great food and good company will always be a blast, what I really want (of course) is to throw games that the guest will rave about for years to come.

Now I have 5 in the list.

I guess i just have to familiarize myself with all the games in the upcoming days before the 'day' in question happens to plan accordingly.

In The Mood: Party Planning! (Part I)

I know he has been waiting for his 21st birthday ever since he turned 18!

My lil' brother is turning 21 tomorrow. Well okay, it is the day he can not only legally enters the club, but the day that all university students look forward to - their last passage into adulthood. The day that he turns into a real adult. Whatever that means - as decided by the world.

But really, how do he spend this occasion?

He might have in his dream world, hiring Bruno Mars for his gigantic birthday bash in some sparkly New York City club.
*slap*
But he don’t live in a dream world.

Although the reality of his 21st birthday may not sparkle in a New York City kinda way, I am not going to let that stop him from having one of the best nights of his life. The question of how to do it and not just do it, but do it well plagues ME.

Where should we throw the party? Does location even matter anymore, or is the night is just about having FUN?

Who should come? His close friends or anyone who somehow decides his birthday is important enough via the joke of a Facebook event they received? Do he invites the relatives to witness the madness? What if we just invite ourselves and call it a day? Or should he just spend his 21st birthday alone - now that would be interesting.

Should there be a theme? Hmm.

But seriously, when it comes to the sport of turning 21, what is a boy supposed to do? Or should it be a surprise party for him?

Maybe he should keep it innocent and kick it old-school style. I’m sure we can find some clowns to come make balloon animals and paint butterflies and kittens on his friends’ faces for the same price we may spend on the food. Or maybe we could do an assortment of games, including pin the tail on the donkey and balloon races! I’m sure that would make my parents proud!

Well before we start making plans to throw a gigantic bash or spend thousands of Ringgits, we just need to take several factors in - to carefully plan for his party so that we can save money and ensure that it will be an excellent occasion.

YEAH, we got the budget from FAMA! Its time to budget break down all the costs that are going to incur - site rental, food cost, favors, cake, decorations etc.

Whew. 60% done.

Let's think about a THEME that works for him. He wants it to be a formal 'Handsome and Gorgeous' night with a theme color. Well, its your day Azri! You have your say... (But frankly, the chosen color isn't just me!)

Now let's think about places that 'work'. (This is the toughest!)

1. Holiday Villa Subang - OK, but with our budget of around RM30-RM40 per pax, we can only get a High Tea. Formal theme and High Tea? NOPE! It just won't blend.

2. Laman Grill Steak & Bar-B-Que - The food is OK too. Sadly, they closed at 11pm and the food that will be served is very limited. Nah, not a good steal.

3. Tupai-Tupai Shah Alam - Though the price is such a great deal (approximately RM9/pax) but the theme doesn't 'dissolves' well to the restaurant's ambiance. So, CHOP-CHOP.

4. PINE 38 - Luxurious upper floor with marble tables fit for fine dining, sofas to lounge in, a pool table, and a bar corner serving non-alcoholic drinks? Ok, Definitely a nod. It just compliment the theme. Oops. How about the price? Ok, it's within FAMA budget. PINE 38, you got two nods from us!

26th March 2011, 8:00pm, PINE 38 Shah Alam - All White Party.

CONFIRMED!

I've prepared the invitation and now its ready to be distributed to the guess...

Guest? Who's coming? Err. Later!

How very fast the time has flown.

In The Mood: Riding The Energy Bus

I always love non-fiction fables - Who Moved My Cheese, Our Iceberg Is Melting, The One Minute Manager and recent catch, The Energy Bus. It is just easy-to-understand and entertaining but still communicates confident principles.

It is my turn to do the Knowledge Sharing this morning and it was really at moment's notice. Having less than 24 hours, piles of work on the ‘IN TRAY’, bad sore throat plus coughing and with so many negative energy crippling the office, I’ll just have to settle with whatever is there on the shelf. (Borrowed few books from the library hoping that I could have a page marathon at night and have something fresh to be shared with the rest… haha, it’s a shattered dream.)

So Energy Bus got my vote. (When POSITIVE energy is so much needed for me and colleagues!)
The Energy Bus is written like a fairy tale business. The big header on the bright yellow cover “10 Rules to Fuel Your Life, Work, and Team with Positive Energy” is convincing enough. (It’s sending a subtle message that I need more energy?) And I'm glad I got my nose stuck to it on one beautiful Sunday.

If all 10 rules have been put clearly in the content, I would have said: "Yes, I already know that…" and put it a skip. But reading of the first few chapters and the first rule revealed on the 7th chapter has left me with zeal to complete the whole book in a day. (“Hey this book is so me!”).

Jon Gordon, reveals "10 secrets" for the ride of our life:

  • Rule 1: "You are the Driver of Your Bus." - This is the most important rule: Take responsibility for your life. Take control. Don't subject yourself to whimsy of others. It's your bus and you are the driver and you choose where you are going and the kind of ride it's going to be.
  • Rule 2: "Desire, Vision, and Focus Move Your Bus in the Right Direction" - Create your vision for your life by determining where you desire your bus to go. Then turn you vision into reality by focusing your thoughts on that vision.
  • Rule 3: "Fuel Your Ride with Positive Energy" - A formula for life: Having a positive energy with allow you to experience a more positive life.
  • Rule 4: "Invite People on Your Bus and Share Your Vision for the Road Ahead."- The more people who join your bus the more positive energy you will have to fuel it. Share your vision and ask the people in your life to get on board.
  • Rule 5: "Don't Waste Your Energy on Those Who Don't Get on Your Bus." - Not everyone is going to want to get on your bus and you shouldn't worry or try to force them on. This will only drain your energy.
  • Rule 6: "Post a Sign That Says No Energy Vampires Allowed on Your Bus." - Don't include negative people on your bus. Be strong enough to kick them off.
  • Rule 7: "Enthusiasm Attracts More Passengers and Energizes Them During the Ride." - Enthusiasm and positive thinking is contagious. Show enthusiasm for life and give your full heart to it. Become a "Chief Energy Officer," someone who shares positive energy and "communicates from the heart.”
  • Rule 8: "Love your Passengers" - Genuinely love and care for the people in your life this will inspire loyalty; it will keep them on your bus.
  • Rule 9: "Drive with Purpose" - Giving purpose to our lives will keep life fresh and inspire us.
  • Rule 10: "Have Fun and Enjoy the Ride" - Live your life and enjoy every moment. Don't stress about little things and don't dwell on regrets.

There have been numerous readings that I have done on life, positive energy and success, and the secret to overcome negativity and create success: TO HAVE FUN.

It has been a really bumpy road at work, but I know I will get there to the destination that i have chosen... with God wills.

"Positive energy," Gordon writes, "is like muscle. The more you use it the stronger it becomes. "

And I know, I am the one responsible in achieving it.

Remember, you have only one ride through life so give it all you got and enjoy the ride!

In The Mood Of : Falling Dan Jatuh

People said,
"Wishes do come true" right?

Just wish I had a crystal ball to show me if it is worth it all...

Falling For You

I don’t know but
I think I maybe
Fallin’ for you
Dropping so quickly
Maybe I should
Keep this to myself
Waiting ’til I
Know you better

I am trying
Not to tell you
But I want to
I’m scared of what you’ll say
So I’m hiding what I’m feeling
But I’m tired of
Holding this inside my head

I’ve been spending all my time
Just thinking about ya
I don’t know what to do
I think I’m fallin’ for you
I’ve been waiting all my life
and now I found ya
I don’t know what to do
I think I’m fallin’ for you
I’m fallin’ for you

As I’m standing here
And you hold my hand
Pull me towards you
And we start to dance
All around us
I see nobody
Here in silence
It’s just you and me

Oh I just can’t take it
My heart is racing
The emotions keep spinning out

I can’t stop thinking about it
I want you all around me
And now I just can’t hide it
I think I’m fallin’ for you

I’m fallin’ for you

In The Mood Of : Commotion Out What’s Deep Inside through Music

It is the distance that makes life a little hard. But then again distance between two hearts is not an obstacle; I take it as a great reminder of just how strong true love can be. It is sometime, a beautiful pain.

Yang Kutahu Cinta Itu Indah

[Nagita Slavina]
Tak pernah aku membayangkannya
Bila insan sedang patah hati
Kali ini ku rasakan sesungguhnya

[Afgan]
Siang hari ku bagaikan malam
Pelangi pun berwana kan gelap
Ini kah yang di namakan patah hati

[Duo]
Tak ingin ku jalani cInta yang begini
Yang kutahu cinta itu indah
Tak ingin ku rasakan jiwa yang tak tenang
Ku mau kau tetap disisiku

[Afgan]
Siang hariku bagaikan malam
Pelangi pun berwarnakan gelap
Ini kah yang dinamakan patah hati

Tak ingin ku jalani cInta yang begini
Yang kutahu cinta itu indah
Tak ingin ku rasakan jiwa yang tak tenang

In The Mood Of: Blogging Again!

Yes, yes and yesssss friends… I’m doing just fine! :D

I’ve switch my hibernating mode OFF now, so I’m back blogging. Well I would not be calling it a real hibernating-hide away session as I have been hard-pressed and bunged, under duress for doing so. Or in short, my Mr. Lappie laptop rosakla! Ergh.

Another ‘best friend’ of mine was sent to the hospital.

Waiting for my Mr. Lappie and Ms. Lullaby out, is like waiting for a real friend out off the hospital. You are left with a big query mark and living in uncertainty on how serious they could be? Am I going to loose them forever? Is there a chance for them to survive? And the most crucial and has been haunting me deficiently for the past almost one month, (of course this is only for the two ok!) how much am I going to debit my account now?

So now they are back! Yes, they survived with just a minor operation and the debiting part does not affect my self decreed debt-management program. Ha-ha. Thank God.

And today, enthusiastically, Liyana Azira Mohammad Azmi will start blogging again.

More and more to come!

Rest assured.

In The Mood Of: Swaying to Olivia Ong

Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.

Saya merasakan bahawa:
Music in itself is healing. It's something we are all touched by.

Agree?

Olivia's chill rendition of Frank Sinatra's, Fly Me to the Moon will definitely make you sway.

Fly me to the moon
Let me play among the stars
Let me see what spring is like
On Jupiter and Mars

In other words, hold my hand
In other words, darling kiss me

Fill my heart with song and
Let me sing for ever more
You are all I long for
All I worship and adore

In other words, please be true
In other words, I love you

Fill my heart with song and
Let me sing for ever more
You are all I long for
All I worship and adore

In other words, please be true
In other words
In other words, I love you

yes, please fly me to bulan.
