The Q&A

He: You are too fussy about man.

Me: No. I'm not. I'm just attracted to very few. Seriously, I'm not picky. Ok... yeah, it is not an easy thing for me to fall for someone. Perhaps its all because of the past...it has taught me a lot about love and man. I know what i want now. Why?

He: Idk, its been one hell of hard time to please your wish. I still think that you are really fussy.

Me: *LOL* NOOOOOOO! I went out with few guys before this. I enjoyed many of my dates and even made some good male friends through the process, but no one in particular stood out enough as far as going together on a steady basis. The path doesn't crossed. But when I look back, I realize that its a learning field and I am so glad I went through that.

He: Or you are comparing your date to your ex? I guess before S* started treating you badly, there had to be some good times together.

Me: Of course we had many good memories together. But I refused to let him make me hate ALL men! I paid attention to the character of a person. To tell you the truth, I can easily fall for someone with a strong character and a smart man.

He: So do you think i'm smart enough?

Me: i dont see the relevance here.

He: Come on babe. What's the criteria?

Me: I need someone who aligns with who I really am and with what I really enjoy. Again, someone with strong character and smart. Someone who is caring and funny... and last but not least, his commitment to do righteousness.

He: Do you think i'm your ideal man?

Me: YES, you may be an ideal man for someone else. But NO, not for me. We are like 'brother' and 'sister' remember?

He: You are really choosy...

Me: TQ. I take it as a compliment. ;)

Marriage is icing on the cake, but you should at first care more about finding the RIGHT person rather than about where it is headed immediately after you meet.

In The Mood: Party Planning! (Part II)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DEAREST BRO, AYIE@AZRI.

"HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
MAY YOUR WISHES ALL COME TRUE & ALL THE BEST...

xoxo

Nothing much is being done today for this Saturday party. I guess Monday is always been a busy day for all... just another manic day. Or perhaps, we are still in our weekend mood where snoozing the alarm clock can be something that is difficult to preclude... something delicious and counting the hair in front of the TV is beyond amazing.

But regardless we just can't put the rhythm going down... even with just a little add-ons. So to keep it moving, let's plan for the games!

I realized the only way to add some flavor and spice to the birthday party that we will be hosting, is to have a great party games. Well wow, there are way too many sites that can help us with the game search, and guide us to the best games available that will blend well with the theme.

Ok, I'm spoiled by choice. All i need is just something fun (but clean! - 'P.A.W') games that will liven up the party. Sounds so 'kacang'? Seriously, it ain't easy!

Well, even though great food and good company will always be a blast, what I really want (of course) is to throw games that the guest will rave about for years to come.

Now I have 5 in the list.

I guess i just have to familiarize myself with all the games in the upcoming days before the 'day' in question happens to plan accordingly.

In The Mood: Party Planning! (Part I)

I know he has been waiting for his 21st birthday ever since he turned 18!

My lil' brother is turning 21 tomorrow. Well okay, it is the day he can not only legally enters the club, but the day that all university students look forward to - their last passage into adulthood. The day that he turns into a real adult. Whatever that means - as decided by the world.

But really, how do he spend this occasion?

He might have in his dream world, hiring Bruno Mars for his gigantic birthday bash in some sparkly New York City club.
*slap*
But he don’t live in a dream world.

Although the reality of his 21st birthday may not sparkle in a New York City kinda way, I am not going to let that stop him from having one of the best nights of his life. The question of how to do it and not just do it, but do it well plagues ME.

Where should we throw the party? Does location even matter anymore, or is the night is just about having FUN?

Who should come? His close friends or anyone who somehow decides his birthday is important enough via the joke of a Facebook event they received? Do he invites the relatives to witness the madness? What if we just invite ourselves and call it a day? Or should he just spend his 21st birthday alone - now that would be interesting.

Should there be a theme? Hmm.

But seriously, when it comes to the sport of turning 21, what is a boy supposed to do? Or should it be a surprise party for him?

Maybe he should keep it innocent and kick it old-school style. I’m sure we can find some clowns to come make balloon animals and paint butterflies and kittens on his friends’ faces for the same price we may spend on the food. Or maybe we could do an assortment of games, including pin the tail on the donkey and balloon races! I’m sure that would make my parents proud!

Well before we start making plans to throw a gigantic bash or spend thousands of Ringgits, we just need to take several factors in - to carefully plan for his party so that we can save money and ensure that it will be an excellent occasion.

YEAH, we got the budget from FAMA! Its time to budget break down all the costs that are going to incur - site rental, food cost, favors, cake, decorations etc.

Whew. 60% done.

Let's think about a THEME that works for him. He wants it to be a formal 'Handsome and Gorgeous' night with a theme color. Well, its your day Azri! You have your say... (But frankly, the chosen color isn't just me!)

Now let's think about places that 'work'. (This is the toughest!)

1. Holiday Villa Subang - OK, but with our budget of around RM30-RM40 per pax, we can only get a High Tea. Formal theme and High Tea? NOPE! It just won't blend.

2. Laman Grill Steak & Bar-B-Que - The food is OK too. Sadly, they closed at 11pm and the food that will be served is very limited. Nah, not a good steal.

3. Tupai-Tupai Shah Alam - Though the price is such a great deal (approximately RM9/pax) but the theme doesn't 'dissolves' well to the restaurant's ambiance. So, CHOP-CHOP.

4. PINE 38 - Luxurious upper floor with marble tables fit for fine dining, sofas to lounge in, a pool table, and a bar corner serving non-alcoholic drinks? Ok, Definitely a nod. It just compliment the theme. Oops. How about the price? Ok, it's within FAMA budget. PINE 38, you got two nods from us!

26th March 2011, 8:00pm, PINE 38 Shah Alam - All White Party.

CONFIRMED!

I've prepared the invitation and now its ready to be distributed to the guess...

Guest? Who's coming? Err. Later!

How very fast the time has flown.

Let's Make Love

"This life is what you make it. Not matter what, you're going to mess up sometimes, it's a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you're going to mess it up. Girls will be your friends - they'll act like it anyway. But just remember, some come, some go. The ones that stay with you through everything - they're your true best friends. Don't let go of them. Also remember, sisters make the best friends in the world. As for lovers, well, they'll come and go too. And babe, I hate to say it, most of them - actually pretty much all of them are going to break your heart, but you can't give up because if you give up, you'll never find your soul mate. You'll never find that half who makes you whole and that goes for everything. Just because you fail once, doesn't mean you're gonna fail at everything. Keep trying, hold on, and always, always, always believe in yourself, because if you don't, then who will, sweetie? So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life's a beautiful thing and there's so much to smile about."

Tagged!

It’s been awhile since I posted a meme*. Nerd or not, we all love a good meme - the web crazes that can be really fun.
*Do you know that meme is actually pronounced "meem (rhymes with cream)". I bet ya all did and I'm the only muppet going around saying "me'-me'." Heh

So I was tagged by Adibah in her London Bridge is Falling Down post. Here how it goes:

1. Do you sing in the shower?
Most of the time! Its a habit. Idk why but our voice sounds better in there - the crisp echoes and reverberations. And to add, singing makes the bathing ritual a breeze, and an enjoyable thing to do. ;)

2. What song?

All time fav: Dia - Sheila Majid, Kasih - Hetty Koes Endang, You Light Up My Life Samantha Cole, Without You - Mariah Carey... Oh the list just goes on. What a confession! LOL.

3. Do you believe in love at first sight?

Love and attraction are two different things. I do believe in attraction at first sight. You can definitely see someone from across the room, like the way they look and want to meet them. After you meet, you could start dating which could eventually lead to falling in love, but I feel as if you can't truly love someone unless you know him or her. I'm sure it happens but probably very very very rarely. They are just born lucky.

4. What was the name of your first pet?

Black Dagger! I have Ailurophobia. But i love to see all the cute Persians.

5. What is the last movie that you saw at the cinema?
Black Swan. (A good catch. But in 5 years time, i don't think people are going to look back saying "Wow, remember that movie Black swan? It was amazing!")

6. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation where would you go?
Venice, Sweeden, Budapest, Prague, Agra India and Maldives for a vacation. And for a place anywhere in the world that i really want to have a visit again would be Makkah and Madinah.

7. Are you a morning person or a night owl?
I'm a very morning person.

8. Do you always wear a seatbelt?
YES. But not when i'm driving around Shah Alam. ;)

9. What is your ringtone?
Default tone: David Guetta & Chris Willis ft Fergie - Gettin' Over You.

(Assigned tones to family and VVIP friends: Bryan Adams - Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman (Dad), Kenny Rogers - Through The Years (Mom), MC Magic - All My Life (Brother-Shafiq), Daughtry - Feels Like Tonight (Brother-Azri), Auburn - Perfect Two (Sister-Dolly), Telepopmusik - Breathe (Bosses+Colleagues), Lily Allen - Who'd Have Known (Asni), Lynn Anderson - Rose Garden (Iena), Sugarland - Stuck Like Glue (Alynn and Juju), Meiko - Reasons To Love You (Farah and Nini), Miley Cyrus -Stay (The rest of my girlfriends), Nelly - N Dey Say (Fawwaz), Garth Brooks - The Dance (King), Rob Thomas - Ever The Same (Shahrir), Babyface - Loneliness (Eman and Gonn), Gavin DeGraw - Chariot (Syazrul) and Lauryn Hill & Bob Marley - Turn Your Lights Down Low (Close guy friends)

*and i remember them all!

10. What curse word do you use the most?
Stupid. May blurted out the 'F' word at times when the angriness reached it maximum level.

11. Flip flops or sneakers?
Flip flops.

12. What color is your room?
Yellow and brown. I'm going to have a room makeover soon! Might be painting it with deep purple or just white. (Contemplating of having a Lulu Guinness inspired theme or a very rich sexy Moroccan style)

13. How many hours of sleep do you need to function?
At least a good sleep for 5 hours.

14. Are you picky about spelling and grammar?
Dieba, gotta agree with you. "Thats means" is so NO NO!

15. Do you sleep on your side, tummy, or back?
Right side

16. What is your favorite TV show?
Modern Family, GLEE and Desperate Housewives.

17. What is the weather like?
A cold Friday night.

18. Are you shy around the opposite sex?
Geminis are known for dual personalities. ;) Does that answer the question?

19. How often do you remember your dreams?
Definitely not the whole chunk of it. I'd be a great film director if i could.

20. Do you think people talk about you behind your back?
People will always talk about us especially when they envy us and the life we live. Let them. We affected their lives, they didn't affect ours! Don't be afraid to laugh. They might want us to fight back! But if we shrug it off, they might leave us alone.

-end-

Hats Off

...this is good.

“Tick Tock” is a short film by Len Chi originally made for Campus MovieFest at Emory University, that takes a look a young man trying to fufill his life’s highest potential with only five minutes left to live.

What would you do if you had only five minutes to live?

A 3 minute look back…
The first 90 seconds worth of apologies to family and friends. Reflecting on what I have said or done without realized that may have offended them. Each person is liable for their doings. I just have to take responsibility for what I did or said and accept that it was maybe upsetting to some. By apologizing, I am, most of all, healing myself, my life, the person, my relationship with the person, and the world.

The next 90 seconds would be to say thank you. To family & friends for the good times, the journey, the madness, the support, the understanding, the forgiveness, the encouragement and the guidance.

The next 60 seconds…
Tell my siblings to smile when they reach the mountain of success and don’t ever forget those that make them reach the top and those they meet along the voyage. I would tell my little brothers and sisters too that attitude far outweighs skills when it comes to living (skills can be learned). Wasted time is the greatest waste of all, look after the world around you since good planets are hard to find, embrace challenge and adventure since it will help you sleep better at night.

The final 60 seconds…

To look at my parents, siblings and close friends in their eyes and say, "I love you."

BUT we never know when we will die.

We go to sleep every night thinking that we will wake up the next morning. But we might not. Just as we don’t know what will happen tomorrow, we don’t know if we will be here to see tomorrow.

Close to a million people will die around the world every day. Most of them didn’t think that they were going to die. They didn’t think that it would happen to them or that it would have today.

We think the same.

I began to think a lot about this recently again after witnessing a car accident. The people in the accident left their house and got into the accident. Never have they known that it would be the last goodbye, the last kiss and the last smile. And now, they are gone, leaving behind their families and responsibilities.

What if that was me?
What if tomorrow never comes?
What would happen next?

insyaAllah.
